New Patients
Your First Visit to Fort Dental Clinic
Welcome to Fort Dental Clinic. New patients can book online or contact the clinic for help selecting the appropriate appointment. Your first visit will be planned according to your dental concerns, medical history and the type of care you may need.
Before Your Appointment
Please provide complete and current information about your health, medications, allergies and dental concerns. Let the clinic know in advance if you require assistance, have accessibility needs or are booking for a child.
It helps to have the following ready:
current medication list;
relevant medical conditions;
allergy information;
dental-insurance information where applicable;
previous dental records or imaging when available;
questions or concerns you want to discuss.
Previous records and images are useful when they are available. They are not required for every appointment.

Choosing the Right Appointment
Appointments are arranged according to the type of care you are looking for. Common options include:
new-patient examination;
emergency or urgent dental concern;
second opinion;
professional referral.
If you are unsure which appointment type to choose, contact the clinic before booking.
What Happens at the First Visit?
Depending on your concerns and the appointment type, the visit may include:
discussion of concerns;
medical and dental history review;
clinical examination;
appropriate dental imaging when needed;
explanation of findings;
discussion of reasonable options;
recommendations for next steps.
Not every examination results in treatment on the same day.
Dental Imaging
Existing dental images may be reviewed when they are current, appropriate and available. New imaging may be recommended according to the clinical situation and the information required for diagnosis or treatment planning.
Treatment Planning
When treatment is recommended, the dentist will explain the findings, proposed care, alternatives, expected sequence and relevant limitations. Complex treatment may require more than one consultation or coordination with another dentist or healthcare provider.
Children’s Appointments
For a child’s appointment, a parent or legal guardian should provide current medical and dental information and be available to discuss concerns, findings and treatment options. The pace and scope of the visit may be adjusted according to the child’s age, comfort and needs.

Emergency Concerns
Patients with pain, swelling, dental trauma or another urgent concern should contact the clinic. The team will help determine the appropriate appointment based on the information provided and current availability.
Insurance and Payment Information
Please bring or provide current dental-insurance information where applicable. Coverage, limitations and reimbursement are determined by the patient’s insurance plan. Patients remain responsible for understanding their coverage and for amounts not paid by the insurer.
